Easter 2016

Happy Easter everyone!  We had a very busy week of events to celebrate this holiday.
First we had a great Palm Sunday (the above picture was from Palm Sunday).  The kids were able to proceed into the church waving palm branches.  That is a tradition that our church has each year.

 Later in the week we got a package from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue.  The kids did not open them till Saturday, but they were happy about their playdoh and they loved their rabbits.  Thank you Steve and Sue!

 Also on Saturday morning we went to the Harrisonburg Parks and Rec. Easter egg hunt.  It was cold, but the kids had a good time still.

 Easter morning we walked down the street a bit to find this pretty pink tree and used it as a backdrop for our Easter pictures.

 They are so cute!

 Oh, I almost forgot on Saturday we also colored eggs with Mamaw and Papaw.  What a full holiday time we had.  It was a wonderful time together.

Under The Sea

The school that Amy works at did a musical called The Little Mermaid Jr.  Those middle school students did an amazing job with it.

Amy decided that Grace must go and see it.  I am glad that she got to go.  She was transfixed and would not look away from the stage, or remove the huge smile from her face the whole time.

She loved the play.

Then afterward we had the chance to get her picture with Ariel.  She was so excited!  We then went home and the first thing that she wanted to do was watch the movie The Little Mermaid.

It was a very nice girls time out for Amy, Grace, and I.

According to Facebook, 6 years ago today I posted that I had some professional pictures of Grace taken.  At that time on this blog I shared the web address to access the pictures, however I do not believe that I ever put these pictures on my blog.

Since I use this blog as my children's scrap/picture book, I would like to have some evidence of those wonderful pictures.  Thank you Misty for taking these, and this way they will be cherished for years to come.

HELP!

Glen loves Mario.

The Mario video game has many castles that you can play.

One of the castles has a sign above it that says HELP!

Glen has since learned how to read and write the word HELP because of that castle.

So one warm day he was on the driveway writing HELP over and over and over.

I hope no one was concerned about what was going on in this house...

Neighbors!

 I love our neighbors.  This past summer a family with two girls who are 7 and a boy who is 5 moved in one house away.  Grace and all three became fast friends and they are wearing a groove in the yard that is between us.

The kids are always busy whether it is building a fort on the side of the house,

or having a Frozen dance party where there are two Elsa's and one Anna.
We are glad for the great friends that we have in that family.

Tea Parties

Grace got a tea set for her birthday.

She loves to have tea parties with her animals.

 Glen also loves her tea set.

And his animals also love the tea parties.

I have a feeling that this tea set is going to be well loved!

Snow 2016

In January we had a very large snow storm.  30+ inches were dumped on our little city.  And the kids LOVED it!

 They wanted  to play in it as it came down.  So I cleaned off a small portion of the driveway and they proceeded to shovel and roll in the snow.  They are very good little workers.

 We had a few snows before and a few since, but this was the big one for the year.

I am glad that the kids got to experience it...I am also glad that it is now over!

 This is Glen, after he had been in the snow for a bit.  I think that he is just a bit snowburned, but very happy about it!
