This Week In Pictures

Grace loves her books!  She loves to read and have stacks and stacks of books around her.  Though she does not know how to read words yet, she still devours books as if she could read them word for word.

Here is Glen, I thought he looked very humorous in this picture.  He is very contemplative, and possessive of his bottle.  He fell asleep in this position about two minutes after I took this picture.

This is the latest favorite game of Grace and Glen.  Grace sits on the chair or sofa, Glen pulls himself up to the edge and they play peek a boo over the arm rest.  I love to hear the giggles that this causes.

Look at the toes...they are Blue!  Grace and Mamaw had fun painting toe nails and finger nails this week.

This is Grace's flower.  This random plant started growing in the front yard beside where we park the car.  We would accidentally step on it many times, but it would never die.   So we decided to let it live and see what it would become.  It became a very large sunflower that is located right beside the car door where we put Grace in.  So this is Grace's flower and she is quite proud of it.

Long Awaited Post

For those who are interested.  I am sorry that I have not posted recently.  I have been starting to sub at some of the local schools and keeping up with the kids and the house...and I am also starting to make a quilt that Matt has requested.  So things are piling up, but I am hoping to carve out some time at least once a week to post on life around here.

Following are some pictures that we taken when we camped out with our Sunday school class at Highland Retreat Camp.

We had a great time.  But camping will be even better when the kids are older :)
This picture is from last month (Glen has changed so much already compared to the pictures above).  He went to the doctor this past week and he is 20 pounds and 29 inches long.  In other words he is tall and skinny.  He has also mastered most of the skills that they hope for children up through 12 months.  He is not quite 9 months yet. Way to go boy, way to go...catch up with that sister of yours!

Update

I know that I have not blogged for awhile.  I was also hoping to add some pictures that we have taken recently, but I can not seem to be able to access the file on my computer.  I guess that will have to wait for another day.

Glen is doing great.  He is crawling, pulling up, cruising.  He has two teeth, but we think that more will come very soon.  And his favorite past time is to watch and laugh at his older sister.

Grace is also doing great.  She is learning things and teaching me things every day.  Today she went to the dentist for the first time.  This is a pediatric dentist so they are very good with children.  On the first trip they allow the parent to go back for the check up, but then they recommend that the child goes back on their own in the future.  Even though this was Grace's first time, I let her go back alone.  The dental hygienist came into the waiting room to see me two or three times and each time told me that she is amazed at how well Grace is doing and is surprised at all Grace is allowing them to do during the check up.  Then I got to meet in a room with Grace and the doctor.  He also said that he is amazed at how Grace acted during the check up.  He said that there are some parents that still come back and hold their 15 year old child's hand during the check up so he was also amazed with me for letting my 2 year old have such freedom to do things on her own.  Her teeth are great, and we do not go back for a year.  I am so glad to hear that Grace can hold her own during these situations.
