Christmas Tree

Decorating the Christmas Tree.
Grace and Glen did a great job hanging the decorations that were ok for them to handle.
Glen especially loved putting on the decorations.
Working together you get a beautiful tree!
Some Sunday morning pictures with a lit Christmas tree.

Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  This was the first of the holiday season that Grace was in school.  And since she was in school we kicked off our holiday with a Thanksgiving program where Grace sang (she is the one on the far right).  At school Grace and her classmates also made a Thanksgiving feast for all of the parents who came for the program.  There was fruit salad, turkey roll ups, muffins, and crackers with cheese.  It was a good time.

Then we had Thanksgiving at Mamaw and Papaw's house.  Glen loved sitting with Eamon and  having Eamon let him play on the iPhone.
Others spent Thanksgiving (prior to the meal) playing Dutch Blitz!
I was in charge of pies this year.  It was sweet potato, French silk, and vinegar pies...YUMMY!
After dinner entertainment included letting Glen watch videos on my phone.  See how happy he gets when I let him watch Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?
What a cute little boy.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we had cookie day.
This is where Mom, Carol, Amy and I get together with our families and bake cookies most of a day.  Then we can leave with enough cookies and sweets to last us the holiday season (most of the time).
Glen helped this year.  He loved to help cut out the orange cookies and help wash the dishes.  He actually did really help.

With this being a post about Thanksgiving I must end with this.
I am so thankful for these two little ones, and the love that they have for each other....
(most of the time)

Early Morning Fun

Before the day begins...
As I am getting breakfast ready for the kids...
You never know what they might get into.
For instance, Glen might build with his blocks.
 And try to make towers.
And Grace might find some noodles that we dyed (that were drying)
and try to match each noodle color to a color of a toy she already had.

They are some creative kids.

Pumpkin Patch

A family tradition that we started a few years ago was that we go to a local pumpkin patch at some point in October.  Last weekend was our time to visit Back Home On The Farm.

The first thing that Grace saw was the "Corn" Deere tractor and she just had to get on it.
Then the tire horse swings.  Grace loved them, but Glen was not too happy about the whole thing.

He just wanted to get off of the horse.

That is until he saw the tire tractor.  Oh, he loved that tractor and the steering wheel that he could spin around.  He could have stayed on that tractor all afternoon.

But Grace decided that she also needed a turn on the tractor.  Glen reluctantly let her have a turn.
Then it was time to run down the hill to the rest of the games and the animals.  Some of the games that Grace and Glen loved were the water pump rubber ducky races, pots and pans musical station, and the corn maze.
There were bunnies,
and goats.  The goats really liked Glen.  They really wanted to nibble on his hands.  I wonder what they smelled on him.
Next was to the cow train.  We did not get a picture of the train, but look at that happy face.  That tells you all you need to know.
Grace needed to try out all of the picture cut outs.  She was a sunflower,
A goat,
A bunny,
A cow,
But I like her the best, just as Grace.
Then to end the experience we spent some time in the corn crib.
Grace made a corn angel, and we found corn in many weird places for a long time afterward.
To finish off our trip today Glen had to say good bye to the pig and the rooster.  I am not sure why our kids are so fascinated by animal statues....but I am ok with that.
It was a great trip, I can not wait till next year.

Leaves

Every other Friday Matt and I try to have either a family date or each of us take one child to have a parent/kid date.  Granted it does not always work, but when it does, it is nice.  This past Friday we had a family date.  We decided to have our family event as playing in the leaves in our front yard.
The kids had a blast!
They ran through the leaves, they jumped in the leaves, you would have thought that they had never done it before.
They through the leaves at each other and at Matt and I.
Grace even got buried in the leaves (do you see her feet in the picture below).
It was all happy play, that is until we had to drag the kids inside to take a leaf filled bath.

I love this age where the kids are happy to play and explore together.

Some Very Random Photos

There are so many random pictures that we have taken over the past few weeks that don't fit into a nice category or story.  So here is a bunch of cute pictures with a bit of a caption to explain what is going on.
Shopping at Goodwill is always better when your sister is willing to play with you on the toys.
Choosing a book for a night time story is such hard work.
 I can roll my tongue!
I have a boat, now just get me to some water.
First you pet the ceramic pig...
then you ride the ceramic pig!
Yep, this truck is just my size.
Get your own truck, this one is mine!
