Happy Mother's Day

I am only 7 weeks pregnant, so I do not feel as if I deserve the honor that other mothers receive on this day. But another way to look at it is that I am caring for a child already....so...

Happy Mother's Day to me.

Matt, his parents, Amy, and God have provided some very nice presents for me today.

Matt made breakfast for me this morning (which is not unusual for the weekend) when the food was ready he told me that he would bring the food out to me (which is also not unusual at all). When he arrived at the table his plate had eggs, sausage, and banana bread while mine had eggs, sausage, banana bread and a beautiful red box. I was shocked! I did not expect anything at all since I said earlier that I do not feel as if this is a day for me yet. But I opened it and saw a very beautiful silver bracelet with blue stones in it. After admiring the bracelet and saying thank you and I love you many, many times I thought I should get to eating if we are going to get to church on time. So I picked up my plate to turn it and move it closer so that I could eat, but as my fingers touched under the plate they felt something that should not be there. Upon more investigation I realized that it was not one, but two cards! One was a Happy Mother's Day to be card from Matt and the other was a similar card from Steve and Sue (Matt's parents). That was just a wonderful way to start such a special day.

The rest of the day was quite lazy. We watched Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and just did some things around the house. As I was wandering around the yard I noticed that God had provided some wonderful surprises in our yard. Two roses had their first bloom today. I feel in a way that is also a very special gift :)
Finally Amy (my sister) sent me a virtual bouquet through Facebook.

I just feel so special to have so many people showing that they are thinking of me and trying to make my day special.

So glad you had a nice first mother's day!

Those are beautiful roses! The ones at my house did not do well. Then again, I didn't know how to take care of them. I hope you do better.

Nice cards, bracelet and sounds like a great day! Wishing you many more.
That yellow rose is my favorite. Enjoy them now before the beetles come. They usually destroy my roses. But mine aren't blooming yet.

Lana, I am so excited for you!!! Amy just told me your big news this morning. I usually keep up pretty well with your blog, but the last post I had read was about Natural Bridge so it was a surprise to hear about your pregnancy. I'm thrilled for you and Matt!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the two roses you found today means you'll have twins? ;)

Happy Mother's Day - you deserve a special celebration! :)
