Last Day Of Preschool

Grace had her first year of preschool this past year and it went very well.  Grace made a lot of new friends, learned a lot from her teachers and had a fun time doing it all.
This is a picture of all of her class.  Most of which she will be in preschool with next year too!
On the last day of preschool they invited all of the parents to come to the park beside the school for a picnic.  The kids each had an instrument that was loud and they played them to their fullest ability as they proceeded up the hill from the school to the park.

I was unable to attend, but Matt got a lot of pictures.

They each got a book from the teachers, a class photo, and all of their name markers from around the room.

Grace and Grace.  I love this picture.  I am so glad that Grace found such a good friend this year.

I am looking forward to what preschool will bring next year.

Guests, Strawberries, and Ducks!

When Matt worked at GE in Roanoke he became friends with a man named Vitaly.  In doing activities with him and his wife Violetta the four of us became friends.  Since Roanoke Vitaly and Violetta have moved to Northern Virginia and we moved to Harrisonburg.  So we are still "fairly" close to each other in driving distance.  We have tried to get together at least a few times each year to do an activity (usually involving u-pick fruit!)

This past month they came to our house on Friday night and we had a great time playing board games while the kids slept.
The next morning we woke early to find some strawberries to pick.
On our second try, we found a patch that was open and willing to let us pick.
Grace was a big helper in picking.
Glen just marched up and down and up and down and up and down the rows.
We all found a large amount of wonderful strawberries (and not too many of them ended up in our stomachs).
Afterward we went to the local farmers market to see the fresh produce and what else they sell.
As Matt, Glen, Vitaly, and Violetta were shopping, Grace and I were tracking down a duck and her nine ducklings.  It was a fun adventure.

Good friends, great food, wonderful times!  You can't ask for much more :)

Butterfly Picnic (posted by Carol)

Butterfly Picnic

(This post was written by  Carol and put on her blog.  I copied it on here so that Grace with have it in her picture book.  Thanks for writing such a great post on it Carol, she had a great time with you at the picnic)

The Hospice department at the hospital held a "Butterfly Picnic" today.  I borrowed Grace for the evening, as it seemed like a fun girl activity and I needed a girl to share it with.

It took place at Oakdale park in Bridgewater.  There were several crafty activites and a magician.  Grace was also very excited about the 2 playgyms there.

Before we released butterflies,  everyone was given a small piece of orange.

The butterflies were handed out in small wax paper type envelopes.

I let the butterflies out onto my hand.  Grace sort of wanted to have one on her hand, but then she would quickly change her mind.   We had a fun time together (at least I did)!!

Tiny Dancer

Last fall we put Grace into Introduction to Dance class.  It was a fun class and she enjoyed it.
So we decided to put her into the spring session of the same class.
The one difference between the two classes was that the spring session has a recital at the end.
She got a special yellow and pink tutu.
And on mother's day she preformed with her class in front of a packed high school auditorium.
They danced, jumped, and ran around with hula hoops to the music I'll Follow The Sun by The Beatles.
She did fantastic!
And finally a bow from our amazing tiny dancer

Pictures of Glen

I have had the chance to get a lot of pictures of Glen recently.
The other day we went to Mom and Dad's house and the two Glens were dressed alike!
Glen got a ride on Papaw's mower!

The book is almost as big as him

One of my new favorite pictures of this wanna-be country boy!
