December 12, 2022 Frozen!

Grace was in the musical again this year.  This year it was the musical Frozen!
She was snow/ice

She also was a summer time dancer when Olaf sang his song.

She had a couple of other parts in the play that we did not get pictured.  She also helped to paint the set and get people ready behind the scenes.
This year, I had the joy of creating almost all of the costumes that were used in this show.  It was a lot of work, but I love how it turned out.

I am really glad that she is part of these amazing shows.

December 15, 2022 First Ice Skating of the Season

I love where we live.  We have a local ice skating rink that we can use for free.
Usually I try to get the family out to stake once every week or two when the ice skating rink is open for the season.
Today was the first time that we were able to get out for the season.
The kids really enjoy their time on the ice.

December 4, 2022 Merry Christmas!

Ginger wants to send his Christmas greetings to all, in his own special way.

November 30, 2022 National Junior Honors Society

After filling out an application, getting references, writing essays, and getting good grades in general, Grace was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society.

From the picture, it looks like she might be more proud of her cupcake then the medal that she received during the ceremony.

October 31, 2022 Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from a magical creature with a cape (Grace), and Bruno from the Encanto movie (Glen).  They really enjoyed seeing the kitty Jack-O-Lantern at Grandpa Steve's and Grandma Sue's house.

October 16, 2022 Back Home On The Farm

Ever since Grace was a baby Matt said that he wanted to have a tradition with our children.

He wanted to go to a pumpkin patch with them each fall.

So we have made it a priority to go to a pumpkin patch each fall, Our current favorite is Back Home On The Farm.
We have a great time visiting.

Braces October 12, 2022

Grace got braces today.

Cross Country August 26, 2022

Grace found out last year that she really liked cross country.  So she joined again this year.
She really got faster her seventh grade year compared to her time during her sixth grade year.
Glen and I are still her biggest fans at each of the meets.
Here she is running her first meet of her seventh grade year.

First Day of School August 23, 2022

Today was the first day of school.

Glen is starting his fifth grade year.  WOW!  Last year of elementary school, I can not believe that.
Grace is starting her seventh grade year.  She is excited about all the activities that she did last year (musical, cross country, and many clubs).

They are both very excited for a good year.

County Fair August 17, 2022

Today was a great evening to spend at the county fair.  We got the kids bracelets where they can ride all night for one price.
So they rode as many rides as they could.
And they had a great time doing it.
Then Grace saw the horses and wanted to have a ride.
So we got in line and paid for our turn.
And had two very happy kids.
The fair is such a great time!

Fly Fishing August 14, 2022

A day at the river, could have done without the rain but it was still nice. Grace was able to get in some fly fishing, Glen had fun with the tiny frogs.

Out West! July 22, 2022

 Out west day 11: home

The two good things about waking up at 3am.
1. I can get a good picture of my family walking through the beautiful halls of the Paris hotel without tons and tons of people around.
2. We get home by 8 pm.
We are home! It was a great trip, but it feels so good to be home.

Out West! July 21, 2022

Out west day 10: Las Vegas

We wanted to make sure that we could make our very early flight tomorrow, so we got a room.
Today we went to the viewing bridge of the Hoover dam. We did not actually tour the dam, but seeing it from the bridge was still very amazing.
Once we got to our hotel, we then went to the Bellagio to see the fountain show. It was beautiful!

Out West! July 20, 2022

Out west day 9: Zion National Park

Today we had a slow, relaxed morning. Then we took the shuttle bus from our hotel to the river walk hike. We hiked a bit, then we would find a sandy beach area to relax and play, hike a bit more, then find another beach area…over and over and over.
It was shady, and a great day to hike along the river. Then on our way back we got off at each of the shuttle stops, just to see what was at each point of the park. At the lodge area we found a large tree where we laid in the grassy shade, and I even fell asleep.
Back to the hotel to eat some bumble berry treat (since we are staying at the bumbleberry inn, we thought it was appropriate), and time at the pool. A relaxing end to a relaxing day!

Grace and Glen are very proud of the many junior park ranger badges that they have earned during this trip.

Out West! July 19, 2022

Out West day 8: Moab to Zion

Today we made the long journey from Moab to Zion National Park. On the way we were able to drive across Capital Reef National Park and do a few hikes there.
Then we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park where we had a very welcome hike. It was great to get out and walk, especially in nature with the beautiful views.
We got to our hotel a bit later than we we expected, but it is nice to relax with supper and hopefully a swim in the pool.
