It has taken a little while, but the idea of having a gym at our house is slowly coming true...and it is so much fun.
Matt and I knew that we wanted to have a space for treadmills or exercise bikes or something eventually, and now we do. Back in the summer we found an exercise bike that was free to a good home so we picked it up. And Matt had also gotten a weight bench from some of his friends many, many years ago. So we've had the equipment - all we needed was the space. During the moving-in process we have been focusing on cleaning out the very back of the garage and placing the items one in front of the other over the width of the back of our garage. They fit perfectly!
Then we took one of our extra TVs and DVD players into the garage and are able to watch movies or TV shows on DVD. If you look closely at the image above you can see the screen for the bike in the lower right hand corner, the weight bench in the middle, and the TV with a Star Trek episode on in above it all. It is a nice set up for the small space and limited materials that we have.

It looks great! And it doesn't take up much space in your garage. I noticed Matt was working out with his coat on. Is the goal to work up enough body heat to take the coat off?? :)
Kind of. Usually we start with coats on (because the garage is cold, but not as cold as outside) and begin to shed the coats as we keep working out. But you know how much he loves that coat, he rarely takes it off.
If he is even working out in this coat, he may need to part with it long enough to wash it!!
Kind of like taking the blankey away from Linus.
You guys are seriously getting physical, aren't you? Well, good luck to you.
We're going to have to bring our recumbent bike in from the garage, now that the Christmas holidays are over. Time to reclaim the living room. That's the first step. Next, we have to give some thought to actually sitting on it. . .

Speaking of Star Trek (you were), did you hear that Ricardo Montalban died yesterday? He was 88. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
