Here Grace is just enjoying her fashion.  Above she is loving a new dress and her favorite boots.

Sweet Friends February 26, 2022

"Tea" parties are a common thing in our house with the neighbors.  Water, snacks, and a tea set on the kids table is all that we need to have a good time.

 

Snow Day! January 17, 2022

What a great way to start a snow day, but with kitty snuggles from Penny.

Then suiting up with all of our snow gear to play outside.

Grace seems comfy.

The kids decided to dig out a hole in the snow then cover the hole with plywood.  Then, cover the plywood with snow.  It made a really great snow fort/cave.

They had a lot of fun playing in it.

 

Christmas Photobooths December 26, 2021

While we were in Arkansas, Chris and Katie told us that they would like us to have our pictures taken.

We did not know quite what to expect.  They just told us to wear Christmas colors.

So we dressed in red and drove to the location.  To find a large building that was filled with backdrops for many photobooth options.

It was fun to play around with them and get some cute pictures.

At this location, we were able to throw snowballs at each other.

Taking a little bit of a break from all of the playing to get a picture with both my boy and my girl.

Mining for Gems December 23, 2021

While we were driving around the area of Mammoth Cave we found a store that advertised mining for gems.

All of us enjoyed emptying the bags that we bought and discovering all of the beautiful stones

So many pretty things to take home after this trip.

 

Mammoth Cave December 22, 2021

While exploring Kentucky we also decided to explore Mammoth Cave.  It is another national park that we wanted to check out.

From the visitor's center we needed to take a shuttle bus to the entrance of the cave.  Glen was so excited!

The cave was amazing, and there were so many levels and rooms that we got to explore on our tour.

Lincoln's Birthplace December 22, 2021

Grace has a free pass to the national parks, and we wanted to explore Kentucky on our way to Arkansas.  So we stopped by Lincoln's birthplace.

Inside of this huge monument is a log cabin which is a replica of where President Lincoln was born.

The junior park ranger packets taught us a lot about this building.  I am so glad that the kids enjoy working through the activities and learning about the parks and the monuments that we visit while we travel.

Grace celebrated her 12th birthday with a meal of her choice and a cake of her choice.

One of the gifts she got was from her Grandma and Grandpa and it was a red sweater that has a little bit of white and pink.  She loves it because it is so soft.

Wizard of OZ December 12, 2021

At the cast party we had this amazing cake made for the cast.  Check out the details.

Wizard of OZ December 12, 2021

Grace's middle school puts on a musical every year.  When Grace found this out, she was very excited to try out for a part.  When she found out it was Wizard of OZ, the only part she wanted was Toto the dog.

She got the part!  She loved it!

 

I crocheted her hat and the art teacher made her mask for her costume.

Grace loved being on stage with all of her friends.

She was part of what they called "the big four" even though she was number 5 of the big four characters.

I hope that she continues to try out drama and other activities in the school.

 

South Carolina November 6, 2021

Matt's uncle still had a lot of items from Matt's grandfather that needed to be shared with the rest  of the family.  So he came up with a way that all of the grandchildren could put their names in for what they wanted.

Then the fun part, we got to drive down to South Carolina to visit Matt's Uncle and Aunt and pick up all of the items that we asked for.

It was a really great visit.  We had a great time except for when we were shooting the crossbow that Matt's uncle has, Glen shipped his tooth.

He was not in pain, but it felt strange.

And we know that we have some dental work ahead of us to fix that tooth.
 

But over all the trip  was great and we look forward to visiting with them again.
