A boy and his teeth

Here is a boy.  He is a happy boy.  He sleeps with the ninja turtles and life is good.
Then it gets better because on February 28th he LOST HIS FIRST TOOTH!!!!  He was so happy.
But things got even better....because on March 20 he lost his second tooth!  He even lost this one at school so he got one of those cool tooth necklaces.
He is growing up so fast.

Glen is 6

This sweet, loving, and smart boy is 6!  Wow, where did the time go?  We had many celebrations for him.  We had a meal of his choice (noodles with alfredo sauce, peas, and chocolate cake).  That was our family celebration.
Then with his friends we had another celebration.  We had her party at the hospital welness center.  They had games, obsticle courses, and just in general a good time to run around an go crazy.
This is part of the obstical course.
This is soccer with a HUGE ball!
It was a fun time for all.
So thankful that all of our friends could come out and celebrate Glen.
I did not get a picture of the cake before it got dug into.  But here you can get the idea.
Amy had a special celebration with Glen.  She took him to the Green Valley Bookfair.
While there they got to see Santa, he was given a candy cane, and got to choose many books of his choice.
When they came home he and Amy made some cute Chrstmas trees out of buttons and pipe cleaners.  They are some very cute ornimants.
It was a great time with Amy.

Carol also had a special time with Glen for his birthday.  She took him (and the whole family) ice skating.
Matt, Grace, Glen, Amy, Austin, Carol, and I went to the ice skating rink in Bridgewater to celebrate his birthday.  Grace took to it well and had a great time zooming around the rink.
Glen had a great time and started to learn how to skate with the help of the "walkers" and Carol and Matt's help.
All of these were wonderful ways to celebrate a special 6 year old.

Amy had a special birthday celebration for Grace.  She gave her a book about pets, then took her to the SPCA to love on the cats and dogs.  Grace had a great time!
I think that we might need to volunteer there, so that the kids can love on the pets.  Can you see how happy she is.  I think these trips are a great idea and make wonderful memories.
Carol had the most recent birthday celebration.  Last weekend she took Grace to see Cinderella, a high school musical being performed by HHS.  Then after the show she had her picture taken with (L to R)  the fairy godmother, prince charming, Cinderella, Stepsister, Stepmother, Stepsister.  And Grace is so proud because she is wearing her own Cinderella dress.

Kids Christmas Party

The company that Matt works at had a lovely Christmas party for the adults on a weekend before Christmas.  What I did not expect was that on a Tuesday night, they would also have a lovely party for the children.
We drove to his work place (an hour away) on Tuesday and when we got there we saw many parents, lots of kids, snacks, juice, and just fun chaos all around.
Santa came and all of the kids got excited but soon settled down because Santa began to call each child by name and give them the gift that was previously chosen for them.  Grace got a doll type thing where the hair can be styled.  Glen got a Matchbox car set where a set of three trucks run over ramps.
They met a lot of new kids (which we will probably not see much of since we are an hour away) and they had a great time with Santa and their presents.

I am so thankful that Matt's company thinks of and cares for families as much as they do.

Merry Christmas!

Lindale Christmas Program 2017

This year the play was "Wise Guys and Starry Skys"  It was about the wise men that came to find Jesus.
Grace was an Angel and Glen was a cook's  helper (because the wise men needed cooks to come with them...right?)
They both loved listening to the CD this year and they were singing the songs tot he play over and over and over.
It made me happy because it was the first year that both of them were so interested and involved in the play.
Our church does such a great job with these plays.
Oh, and the angels had a "solo" with Mary.  So Grace got to sing a special part as one of the 8 angels.  They did a great job.
You guys did a great job.  I hope it helped you learn about the "Wise Guys" that look for Jesus.

Gingerbread House

While Matt was working at Mercy House he found a cast iron gingerbread house mold.  It looked pretty neat, but to actually use it, I wondered how that would go.
Well on December 10th, Glen woke up with a fever so we decided to stay home from church.  While the kids were in the house and feeling pretty good, I decided to try out the gingerbread house mold.
So Grace and I got the dough ready.  Glen chose what kind of house we made.  I baked the house pieces.  After the cooled, the fun began.  Lots of icing, tons of candy, and much creative decorations.
 And we had our house.
 A different view.
The kids did a great job.  I was very impressed.  First of all I was impressed I was able to do this from scratch.  But I loved how the kids worked together so well and were able to put it together and decorate it so well!
