County Fair

In August we went to the Rockingham County Fair.  For the first time Grace got to ride one of the amusement park rides.
She met a boy in line and instantly they acted like best friends.
And they chose to ride in the same tea cup.  They had the best time and we could hear their laughter over all of the noise of the fair and the machine.  I was so happy that Grace is so outgoing.
Later we went in the building that has the companies set up as advertisements.  A lawn ornaments company was there and Grace and Glen loved the waterfall that was set up at their booth.
 Then Glen found the tractors...
He was determined to drive the tractor.
And Grace did not want to be left out so she found a blue one.
It was a fun night.  So much to do, so much to see.

Summer Reading Ending Program

The summer reading program started with the play of the True Story Of The Three Little Pigs.  And it ended with a program by the Sciencetellers.  These are story tellers that add science into the story.
Grace, Glen and I attended.  Grace was front row and center and very excited about it all.
Glen was just happy he had a few trains to play with.
Grace got called up to do an experiment.
I believe that it had to do with dish soap and dry ice.  To say the least it made a bit of a mess.  But it was fun and a great program.
Which ended with cake and punch for all who attended.
What a yummy and fun way to end a summer of reading.

Breakfast Buddies

Yeah, I am a rebel...I wear a hat at the table!
 Good morning to all!

Mother In The Making

Grace decided one morning that her lamb needed to have her ears cleaned.  What a good mommy she is to her animals!

Missing Summer

With the summer ending and a chill in the air arriving I am missing the fun we had in the outdoors.
 Grace loved her cherry tomatoes.
The kids really enjoyed the water table.
I loved how much they enjoyed being outside everyday.  I miss summer already!

Swimming lessons

This past summer Grace had her first set of swimming lessons.  She was in what is called the Tadpoles class, it was the first preschool class.
There really was no skill taught, it was more of a class that was used to get the children used to water and used to listening to their teacher in the water.
It was 10 days long (Monday-Friday for two weeks) and about an hour each day.  Grace loved classes!
Glen and I would drop Grace off and then go off for a two mile run around the neighborhood.  We would usually get done early enough to be able to see the last half of Grace's class.  Glen just loved sitting in the stroller and playing with the keys.
Grace will take the next set of classes this fall.  I have a feeling that we are going to be busy with swimming lessons for the next few years.

Glen and his Mailbox

For some unknown reason to me, Glen has had a fascination with mailboxes for a few months now.  He loves to check them over and over and over.  He likes to look at the numbers on them and call out those numbers.  He likes to check them even when it is not our mailbox.
So at a yard sale we found a toy mailbox for 25 cents.  So we paid for it and for the next 30 minutes or so I heard Glen sing "I got a mailbox, I got a mailbox, I got a mailbox."  The newness has worn off a bit since we bought it, but he still uses it to carry his trains and blocks to mamaw and papaw's house.
