June 15, 2024 Up North: Day 5

 Up north day 5 - it rained, and rained, and rained…

We still went to see the “flower pots” at the bay of Fundy.

When we got to the Hopewell rocks park we went to the first outlook and saw that it was named the Daniels flats. So we decided that we must take a picture of it. Then we went to all of the overlooks before we did walk on the ocean floor around and between the rock formations.

It was extremely muddy and you can see what happened to Glen’s shoes after the mud pulled them off two times and before the mud got them three more times!

We were drenched between the rain and the water hose to try to get off the mud. So we came back to the hotel, dried off and went to Wacky Waffles for lunch. They only have outside eating so we sat in the back of the minivan to have a “picnic”. After lunch and dessert at Wacky Waffles we came back to the room for some games.

 

 

June 14, 2024 Up North: Day 4

 

Up north day 4 - we left Maine and crossed the border. In Canada we stopped at Saint John to see the reversing tides. It was entertaining to see the bay water and the river water competing as to which direction the water should go.

Then back in the car to get to our hotel. Tomorrow we get to explore Hopewell rocks and the bay of Fundy.

June 13, 2024 Up North: Day 3

 Up north day 3 - we spent the day in Acadia. We did the south bubble hike, ate lunch at Jordan Pond, and went to thunder hole. The kids also got their junior ranger badges. It was a great day for exploring.

 

June 12, 2024 Up North: Day 2

 Up north day 2- we covered New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and now we are resting in Maine! It was a long day of driving and lots of traffic, but we are excited to explore Acadia National Park tomorrow.

June 11, 2024 Up North: Day 1

We decided to travel up north through the New England states and into Canada.

Up north day 1: we left VA, saw a bit of WVA, and a whole lot of Maryland. Then we drove around in Delaware a bit while looking for a national park (we found the sign for it, but still did not find the visitors center). We finally stopped in New Jersey for some supper, time in the pool, and what we hope will be a good and restful night.
 

April 26, 2024 Dance

This was Grace's 8th grade dance.  The theme was a night under the stars, so she wanted a dress that sparkled.  I think that we did a pretty good job finding this dress at a thrift store that sparkled and was blue like the school colors. 

She had a great time dancing and hanging out with her friends.

December 23, 2023 Baby Goats

One day while the kids were ice skating they encountered a few other "kids."

Someone brought a bunch of baby goats to the skating park to help socialize them to other people.

My kids were very willing to help with the socialization.

I think the goats were pretty happy with all of the attention that they got.

I know that my kids were very excited about the surprise they found when they thought they were only going to go ice skating.
