For spring break we did a trip to Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg.
The water was cold, and we were not dressed for going into the water, but did that stop the kids? NO!
Glen got all in, as you can see. He also found some great shells.
Grace did not have to get as wet to find some fantastic shells of her own.
On our way to the beach we found a garden (it was part of our Junior Ranger Packet) and so we got a picture in that beautiful garden.
This particular picture was taken in Williamsburg. Not sure why it is here in this order, but oh well. Two cute kids in front of wooden decorative items.
Back to the beautiful garden in Yorktown. This was the entrance to the walled garden that we had to enter for our scavenger hunt that was part of the Junior Ranger packet.
Matt and Grace walking back to the car after our adventure in the water at the beach.
The sand is irresistible (and as you can see many of my pictures are out of order here).
The victory statue located at Yorktown.
Once again the beach at Yorktown, the favorite part of the day.
In Williamsburg we went sight seeing and as you can see we made a few friends (animals of course)
A walled garden behind the Governor's palace that had an awesome window looking out.
Grace and Glen on the steps that lead to the garden in the back of the Governor's palace.
The entrance to the Governor's palace.
The wait to get into the Governor's palace was long. So drawing and building with dirt was entertaining.
The line to the palace was long, but the day was beautiful so we got some good pictures while waiitng.
At Jamestown we got to visit the church at the settlement. Here Grace is preaching.
The kids were hiding from me behind a fence.
Snack time at Jamestown.
We got to see and go on a replica of the Sarah Constance.
Here is the Sarah Constance again.
It was an amazing trip. Full of history, learning, family time, and relaxation.
