Glen Turns 2

On December 14th we had the joy to celebrate a little boy who turned 2.  Happy Birthday Glen!
Grace (not pictured, because she lost interest), Grandma Sue, and I decorated the cupcakes.
Glen got to spend some time with Grandpa Steve.

We made a favorite food of Grace and Glen's in honor of their birthdays...Quesadillas!

Glen needed a bit of help opening his presents, but once he got the hang of it he was a master of ripping paper.

Everyone was watching to see what he might have gotten for his birthday.
Legos!  A favorite around this house.
Oh, this bag looks like fun.  It is bigger than Glen!
I made Glen a stuffed owl since that is his favorite animal right now.
But the Legos won out for which toy would be play with first.

An owl cupcake for the boy who loves owls.
Happy second birthday Glen,
We love you so very, very much!

Grandma Sue and I decorated the cupcakes.  Grace actually decorated about half of them with us, till she lost interest.  We had owls and stars because a favorite video of Grace and Glen's is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star where an owl flies to a star to go on an adventure with it.
While Grace, Grandma Sue, and I were decorating the cupcakes the guys were having fun on the couch.

We had a quesadilla bar.  Tortillas and fillings available with many griddles to heat it up on.

 After the food came presents.

Grace got her first Barbie items.
And they came from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue.

The Stars were for Grace, the Owls were for Glen.

After a busy and tiring birthday it is nice to just sit back with Uncle Gary and Aunt Donna and play cards.

Happy Birthday Grace!

Glen vs. Eamon's Shoes

Hey mom, these shoes are pretty cool!
I just turned two, so I am big enough for them...Right?
Though the foot is as long as my leg,
that should not make a difference.  I can still walk,
If only I could keep my feet in the shoes.
Oh, I give up!  Eamon you can have your shoes back.

Reading With Grace

Grandma and Grandpa came from Iowa during the Christmas/birthday season that we have here.
We were so glad to have them.
Grace was especially happy to have them here...
She had more people to read her story after story...
And she loved every minute of it!

Snow

Early in December it snowed.  It was the first snow of winter, and it did not amount to very much, but the kids loved playing in it (well Grace enjoyed it more than Glen...)

Grace asked me to help her make a snowman.  We made something that kind of resembled something like a snowman.  Right after the very proud picture was taken, she even more proudly knocked the snowman over!

December Fun

December has been full of a lot of events, actions, fun, and learning.

Here are some pictures that are not holiday or birthday related that took place in December.

Glen put on the hat himself, then got on his ride.  He was so proud of himself.  The start of a lil biker?
Grace dancing.  She is so energetic and full of life!
Grace learned how to play Mario Brothers.  Matt is here giving her tips on how to play.
You can tell that he just wants to grab the controls and play it himself, but he is good and lets Grace play all on her own
Glen likes to play too.  He just has not realized that his controls are not hooked up to anything.
They are both pressing buttons, they are both happy.
